i purchased my first handgun from here earlier and chris the associate that helped me was very well informed and very professional he talked me thru all the questions i had without tryna persuade me to buy more we even had a couple good laughs me, him and some of the other associates all in all very nice and professional business will definitely be returning.

My name is Mike I’m a veteran and I know my side arms and so do they, they will instantly fix your weapon no matter what it is, I went there for a repair that was my fault for not paying attention to my companion as she put something in backwards but they fixed it, now my guide rod isn’t setting right, I called and they were nothing but help id recommend this store bc of the knowledge and experience of the individuals working there, good damn job guy
I’ve purchased 2 fire arms from Area 52 and each time I’ve been there it’s been nothing but love. They really took the time to drop some knowledge on the fire arm I was purchasing so I wouldn’t make a blind purchase. Most places don’t do that so I got nothing but love for them and I’ll be back.
I already appreciate these guys they helped me out, on purchasing a hand gun. I went somewhere else before them, to quick cash on n. church st and I’ll actually been going there for 30 years and they sold my gun out from underneath the contract I had and I will never go back there, I found me a new place. Just the facts. If only zero stars were possible.I won an item on 8.29.2024 on GunBroker. Area52 refused shipment. GunBroker instructed Area52 to issue refund. Area 52 claimed “Let me look into this and make sure it’s squared away today. I got you covered on this 100%!”. (quote is from email reply)GunBroker instructed Area52 to give me a refund for the second time. Area 52 made zero attempts to contact me regarding refund status. All communications were initiated by me. I warned Area52 I would initiate charge back proceedings and leave appropriate feedback in all places possible. This did not motivate him to refund my money.Letter received from credit card charge back 11.22.2024 with status completed and judgement in my favor for full amount.Area 52 doesn’t follow minimum established business practices and doesn’t consider the customer with any meaningful regard. I will never consider a transaction with this business or the owner, Troy Howell.

I visited this store on 10-8-24 and everything was spot on!The salesman spent well over 1 hour with me and was extremely knowledgeable with every question I asked. I have pretty good knowledge myself, so I am 100% positive these guys know their stuff! Not sure the guys name that worked with me (bearded guy) but I can promise you, it was wayyyyyyy better service and professionalism than I received the day before while visiting the Sportsman Warehouse in Greensboro! I work in the service industry and I did not see anything below “top – notch” service. Thanks Area 52 for spending so much time with me! It was a fun shopping/browsing experience!

I bought a Glock 23 GEN5 from area 52 I don’t no much about guns ect they took advantage of that they charged me around $800 for the gun I spend around $1100 there that day including ammunition and some add ons , a few days later someone told me I was ripped off and showed me the same gun I bought brand new at gun store for only around $520 they will NEVER get my business again and will let everyone no they are a rip off!
Great experience making my 3rd purchase at Area 52 today. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted & asked if I needed help with anything. Andres did a phenomenal job helping me with my purchase (Beretta Cougar). Highly recommend this shop for all your firearm needs.

If you need self-defense, WALK IN THIS STORE! I have at least a dozen purchases with these guys. Every single one was professional, quick, and as painless as the hypocrites in Washington will allow. If you can’t find it at Area 52, stop looking. You don’t need it.
The absolutely worst credible gun shop in the Southeast part of the US to do business with…So watch your back or you will get taken advantage of at Area52Gun & Pawn!!When truth comes out it can hurt!The simple facts are:1) Staff member quickly stated that my weapon was in very bad shape & when questioned if I could just get a loan…he stated he could only give more money 💰 if I sold it; 2) I decided within less than 1 hr to ask if you could consider a loan before leaving establishment & was told I could for 3x amount 3)Made payments back immediately except $30(Called back to see if I could return to pick up my dead father’s gun& was told no problem it would not be sold if I got it under $50…This was a trick so they not only received over $100 from me but another $200+ in sales when it was sold…great profit for the store !!! Profit x Trickery=Poor customer service….So this is how you make your $Mill..You’ve made a breach of contract/trust.Bad business skills!

I’ve bought many firearms from Troy and his team at area 52 and now it’s literally the only place I shop for firearms. If they don’t have it they can get it! Area 52 and their staff were very responsive to my email and getting FFL transfer information to the suppressor manufacturer of my choice. However, upon deliverance of the NFA items, even though they were paid for they would not let me give one of those suppressors and have it registered under another person‘s name. I spent over two hours in their store while they contacted the ATF and their “boss” .The ATF who is the governing authority on such items and told them that they were allowed to register one of those suppressors in another person‘s name because they were not actually assigned to anyone yet via the form 4 that the ATF uses. They did not abide by the ATF ruling and instead made me register all three under my name and purchase a trust in order to do so. They were very uneducated about the ATF rules regarding suppressors and NFA items. Their ability to navigate their SilencerShop kiosk was very frustrating.After all that was said and done, we were able to properly register all three NFA items. However they were not transparent in their transfer fee. So, when I came to pick them up once they were released from the ATF they charged me the most expensive fee I have ever seen any dealer ever request. A transfer fee of $125.99 per item was charged plus tax, which tax would not apply to this type of transfer because this is a service just like doing a firearm transfer. I tried to clarify that this was a service and it was a non-taxable charge yet they would not budge and still charged me $125.99 per NFA item plus tax.I would not recommend going to Area 52 and having them do any type of NFA transfer of any type regardless how easy they make a sound having a kiosk. They are very uneducated about the ATF rules and are uncomfortable with making decisions even though they spoke to the ATF directly.I also witnessed multiple individus in those two hours that I was there either reeking of marijuana or wearing ankle monitors. They were in pursuit of buying weapons and the employees at the time seemed unaware of their current disposition (potential felon or under the influence).I and others that have frequented this store will not be doing business with them anymore.
Bought a DB15, supposed to be new with box (seller says he never said it was new after returning to the store) didn’t come with original box or original magazine, they did reimburse me for the magazine but as for the gun it had a piece of a lead pencil shoved down the barrel and the firing pin had been filed down (potentially) when i did go back to the store i was also told i wouldn’t get a db15 new for that price but diamondbacks sells for less than original amount paid to area 52. would not recommend.
Come get your home, personal defense gear and ammo at area52. Amazing staff and great deals. Come on out and support the 2nd Amendment right to own and carry. God bless
My wife bought a frame and had a FFL transfer to area 52. We have used area 52 many many times as far as gun purchases and FFL transfers. Before my wife purchased the frame she was checking prices out to see how much it would cost to have it transferred there. On brownells website handgun transfers are $25.25. so when my wife gets up there to pick it up they tell her that the transfers have doubled as we were charged $52.52 just for a transfer fee which is absolutely ridiculous. I probably wouldn’t have posted a one-star review if they would have called us and said hey we just seen that you ordered this gun or transfer fee prices have went up. But no we were surprised with it when we went up there to pick up the gun. Will not be doing no more business with them. And I also posted a photo from brownells website right before I posted this just to show that they do say $25.25 and not the $52.52 that we were charged.
They are good store bought a dagger from them and will be doing a review on on my YouTube only negative is he threw in a holster that is the wrong hand but all and all good store will be back

I stopped by this afternoon, both associates were super helpful and knowledgeable. The process was quick. I picked up a canik mc9 they hooked up all the accessories for me, I will definitely be visiting again for another purchase.
What a great gun store. There is something for everyone in here. Weather you want the latest Glock or a C&R style old gun. Revolvers, DA/SA and many Soviet and AR style rifles. It reminds me of a gun show that’s how much variety it has. Not the typical NC gun store with a few Glocks and SCCYs and maybe an AR shoved in a corner.
Had an issue ordering a shirt online, went in store and Dre (if that’s how it’s spelled) at the counter immediately showed he cared about making sure the problem got resolved and that we were taking care of. Best customer service I’ve ever gotten in 26 years. Awesome people here. If you need anything firearm related or even if you just want some cool beanies or hats, give Area 52 a visit!

Ordered a pistol from the internet, and had it delivered here for pickup, which I went to get it Wednesday after calling the store to see if my order was ready. Was met with very, very friendly and helpful employees, I wish I knew their names but one of them mentioned he’d only started in January, which I was surprised at the professionalism grown in such short time. (He was the one who did most of the transaction)Anyways, if you’re looking to have a licensed firearm transaction, have it delivered here, it’s the best. Or, you could buy their stock, they have really impressive liveries and a variety of firearms in stock. Anyway, I’d rate 10/10 but the cap only reaches 5. 😂 Was very impressed and satisfied.
